Located within each of 17 mental health service areas in Oklahoma is a publicly supported community mental health center. Most have satellite offices or other specialized programs within their service areas. These centers provide emergency intervention, assessment, counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation, case management, and community support services designed to assist adult mental health clients in living as independently as possible and to provide therapeutic services for children who are demonstrating symptoms of emotional disturbance.

For clients who need inpatient treatment, the Department operates a psychiatric hospital for adults and a facility for children under the age of 18 years.  There is also a specialty center devoted to forensic services.   Additionally, the Department provides funding for social and recreational services for individuals with mental illness who live in residential care facilities, as well as support for certain other community-based services such as assistance for mentally ill individuals who are homeless.

V/TDD after the telephone number means the number is accessible both by voice and by a telecommunications device for the deaf. Reach-Out hotline workers are also available to answer questions about hours of operation and specific services offered by the facilities listed below.
