Oklahoma State Treatment Needs Assessment Project

The following reports are executive summaries and final reports from the federal Center for Substance Abuse Treatment-funded Oklahoma State Treatment Needs Assessment Projects (STNAP) managed by the ODMHSAS. In 1994, ODMHSAS was awarded the first of two STNAP contracts. In this project, three surveys were conducted to estimate the need for alcohol and substance abuse treatment among the general household population, the Native American population, and the criminal justice population under Department of Corrections supervision. These surveys were completed in 1998.

In 1999, ODMHSAS was awarded a second STNAP contract. This project also included three surveys. The first was used to estimate the need for alcohol and substance abuse treatment among recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The second estimated treatment needs among juveniles in the custody of the Office of Juvenile Affairs. The third survey was an Arrestee Drug Abuse Monitoring (ADAM) pilot project at the Tulsa County Jail to determine prevalence of drug use among arrestees.
