COCMHC provides enhanced school-based services in partnership with Norman Public Schools and in particular, Whittier Middle School. This organization provides teams of educators to work with students to develop relationships that promote school success.
In order to reach students and families, a Behavioral Health Professional was recruited to office at Whittier Middle School. Students are identified by the school counselor and referred to COCMHC for evaluation and services. The COCMHC and Whittier Counselors work together on behalf of the students to improve school functioning and over-all mental health. Services are provided in the school setting.
COCMHC partners with Norman Public Schools to introduce and train select Norman Public School staff in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS).
